I Lecci

If you love good food and you want to relax in the middle of nature, look no further. From the road, I Lecci farm looks like an old inn for travellers. A sign lists the dishes of the day and the rooms available. The well-kept gardens and panoramic terraces of the most renowned restaurant in the province stand out. The view from the car park is only a teaser of what you can enjoy from your room: an enchanted valley stretching well beyond the horizon. A single sunset over this valley will fill your heart with joy and satisfy all of your expectations.

All four double rooms have private bathrooms and separate entrances. You can choose from three options: accommodation only, half board or full board. Those who choose I Lecci want to discover Val d’Orcia in its entirety, including its popular culture and traditional “old inn” food.

THE RESTAURANT

Copper pans and wooden spoons are a great start for great cuisine. Anna knows this only too well. Many years ago, she helped her mother cook for the whole family. Back then, there was little food in Val d’Orcia and many mouths to feed. The old Tuscan proverb “poggio e buca…” was a way of life. Food was scare but people helped each other and made do with what they had. Some things never change, so don’t be surprised in the morning to see a line of people at the kitchen door. They are local mushroom pickers, hunters and farmers. After a greeting and a chat, Anna checks the produce, selects some and buys it. All you have to do is be part of this natural human experience. The real heroes of Anna’s dishes are not the incredible flavours of the area but all the people who make them possible. Enjoy your meal!
